The United Kingdom is set to have a referendum on June 23 about whether to remain a member of the European Union. Dr. Richard Whitman (University of Kent) and Dr. Alasdair Young (Georgia Tech) discussed the politics leading to the referendum; the main arguments; and the implications of a vote to leave. There was a lively discussion with an audience of about 40 including undergraduate and graduate students; members of the U.S. Army; representatives of the European Parliament and the British Consulate in Atlanta; and scholars from Europe.
