Dr. Achyut Panchal is a research engineer II in the school of aerospace engineering (AE) at Georgia Institute of Technology. He works at the computational combustion laboratory with primary focus on modeling reactive and multiphase flows. After graduating from Indian Institute of Technology Bombay with a bachelors and a masters in aerospace engineering in 2014, he joined Georgia Institute of Technology for graduate studies. He completed a masters computational science and engineering (CSE) in 2020 and PhD in AE in 2022. Key areas of his expertise are multiphase flows, gas turbine combustion, rotating detonation engines, and acceleration of reactive large eddy simulations. In addition to method development, he also consistently deploys and validates these models on realistic combustion devices to bridge the gap between theoretical developments and application needs. He has authored over 9 journal publications, 19 conference proceedings and 2 book chapters. He serves as a peer reviewer for numerous archival journals such as Combustion and Flame, Journal of Computational Physics, etc.
