User experience, a concept used in the product market that centers product development around the users’ expectations and interactions with a given product, has become essential in technological advancement. Today, major corporations advertise their efforts toward addressing the many factors of user experience. In thinking about the drastic progression we have seen within the past few decades in the digital world, we cannot help but ponder how much user experience has had a role in technological development and how this can be observed over time.
Dive in with us as we explore the history of Apple computers, starting from the rustic yet revolutionary Apple 1, down to today’s cutting-edge MacBooks. From this, we examine the user experiences associated with each computer by analyzing criticisms of each product as well as making note of our own interactions with various computers. Finally, we hone in on the rhetoric of each device by considering how the user experience with Apple computers has evolved, and how this has shaped the visual appeal, ease of use, and efficiency of today’s Apple products.
