Description:
This symposium is to offer a platform for colleagues to share their up-to-date results and keen insights obtained from the research on the surface and interface-related physical phenomena, including interactions between surfaces of solids and liquids, failure and delamination of heterogeneous interfaces, morphing and dynamic motion induced by eigenstrain and eigen stress. Results from theoretical modelling, numerical simulations, and experimental tests and synthesis are all welcome.
Topics of interest:
- Interfacial delamination;
- Strengthening and toughening mechanisms of interfaces;
- Adhesion mechanics;
- Surface effects;
- Morphing behaviors of membranes;
- Thin film materials;
- Functional micro-structured surfaces;
- Characterization of the physical and mechanical properties of surfaces and interfaces;
- Antifouling and antimicrobial surfaces and so on.
