Prospective students interested in joining the ACDS lab should apply to one of the three PhD programs, PhD in Aerospace Engineering, PhD in Robotics and PhD in Machine Learning and robotics. We are always interested in prospective students with a strong background in at least two of the following scientific areas

– control theory

– stochastic processes and probability theory

– statistical and/or quantum physics

– machine learning

– optimization

– robotics.

**Open PhD Positions for Fall 2021**

**Position 1 – Perceptual Decision Making:** The ACDS lab has one open PhD position in the area of Perceptual Decision Making. Candidates should have expertise in the areas of Deep Learning, Perception and Model Predictive Control and are willing to work with autonomous vehicles. **Position 2 – Autonomous Systems & Robotics:** The ACDS lab has one open PhD position in the area of machine learning and stochastic optimal control with applications to autonomous systems. Candidates should have expertise in the areas of machine learning, stochastic processes, probability theory are willing to work with autonomous vehicles. Potential candidates are encouraged to submit their CV to Dr. Evangelos Theodorou.

**Position 3 – Theoretical Stochastic Control & Infinite Dimensional Systems:** The ACDS lab has one open PhD position in the area of theoretical stochastic optimal control, stochastic fluids, quantum and statistical physics. Candidates with a track record in one of these areas will be preferable. Potential candidates are encouraged to submit their CV to Dr. Evangelos Theodorou.

**Position 4 – Deep Learning Theory & Large Scale Optimization:** The ACDS lab has one open PhD position in the area of Deep Learning Theory and large scale stochastic/deterministic optimization.
