At the Ackun-Farmmer Lab, we firmly believe that creative endeavors are essential for shaping an enriched perspective both in and out of the lab. One of our scientists, Autumn Hengen, channels her creativity through photography.

On March 25, Canadian actor/rapper Connor Price took the stage at The Eastern as part of his The Friends & Family Tour. Autumn sprung into action, effectively capturing Price’s enthusiasm and dedication through her lens. Her approach to photography embodies her persistence and compassion in the lab.

We are proud to share that Raymond was recently distinguished with the esteemed Alfred H. Gibeling Family Research Fund through the Coulter Department of Biomedical Engineering. His research work is mentored by Nellie. We are looking forward to supporting Raymond as he begins a project funded by this honor.

An additional member is joining the team! David Chung is a 1st year BME student and he is excited to begin working in the lab.

New members Ryan Chang and Sathya Rajkumar have joined the lab! Ryan is a 2nd year BME student and Sathya is a 1st year ChBE student. They are both enthusiastic to work in the lab and learn new techniques!

This month, Helena (Nellie) Kolon, Autumn Hengen, and Raymond Chen have joined the lab! Nellie is a first year BME PhD student and she is looking forward to researching how to enhance drug delivery to specific cells and tissues. Autumn is also a first year BME PhD student and she is eager to pursue drug delivery systems in the context of cancer treatment. Raymond is a 3rd year BME student and he is excited to assist with the research in the lab.

This year, Georgia Tech welcomes Dr. Ackun-Farmmer into the Krone Engineered Biosystems Building. She will pursue drug delivery research in order to mitigate cancer and autoimmune conditions. Read more about this here: Coulter BME Welcomes Six New Faculty
