  • Modular, connected, and automated vehicle systems
  • Mobility as a Service, e.g., bike-sharing, e-bike/scooter sharing, customized bus
  • Societal impacts of mobility systems, with an emphasis on transportation equity.

Dr. Zhiwei Chen is a Postdoctoral Fellow in the School of Civil and Environmental Engineering at the Georgia Institute of Technology. Dr. Chen earned a BS degree in Transportation Engineering from the South China University of Technology, an MS degree in Civil Engineering and a PhD degree in Civil Engineering from the University of South Florida. He conducts interdisciplinary research at the intersection of transportation engineering, operations research, data science, and social science, with applications to various transportation systems such modular, connected, autonomous vehicles, shared micro-mobility, and public transits. Dr. Chen is the receipt of the Best Dissertation Award from the Chinese Overseas Transportation Association (COTA) and the Charley Wootan Memorial – Masters Award from the Council of University Transportation Centers.
