FastTrack is a social robot that helps you to find your way in a complex, unintuitive interior environment. This project employed a continuum robotic mechanism to achieve a lively, smooth, and socially expressive movement as if the robot were a living creature. Movement-Centric Design and Scenario-Based Design were employed as the key design methods in a Research through Design (RtD) process. User studies regarding the problem space, design ideation, movement design, and summative evaluation were conducted in the design research process. In the summative evaluation, the participants suggested the effectiveness and playfulness of the FastTrack Robot in making way-finding a fun and less confusing journey.
