I am a Professor in Ocean and Climate Dynamics in the School of Earth and Atmospheric Sciences at Georgia Tech. My group's research revolves around climate modes of variability, multiscale dynamics of geophysical flows and their interactions with biological and chemical tracers. Our work is intrinsically interdisciplinary and we use climate and ocean models and data science tools to investigate physical drivers in natural systems.

Why has Sargassum become so abundant in the Tropical Atlantic, and what can we do with it? A collaboration between EAS, BIOL, and ChBE is looking to provide an answer

Welcome Alessandro!
Alessandro Raganato has joined our group! Alessandro will investigate the representation of AMOC in the E3SM climate model, how it changes with resolution, and what influences it.
This semester several undergraduate students will also join us on two projects, searching for conditions favorable to grow Sargassum and looking at microplastic distributions in the Gulf of Mexico
