Committee Members

Vishy Gorti

President

Vishy is a Biomedical Engineering PhD candidate in the Robles Lab at Georgia Tech. He received his bachelor’s degree in BME from the University of Maryland and completed a post-baccalaureate fellowship at the National Institutes of Health before moving to Atlanta. While he’s not experimenting with UV microscopes, he enjoys visiting national parks, running, and supporting his hometown sports teams – the Baltimore Ravens and O’s.

Case Edmondson

Secretary

Case is a Bioengineering PhD student in the Robles Lab at Georgia Tech. Prior to GT, he received a B.S. in Physics and Applied Mathematics from the University of Chicago. Later he worked in the Campagnola Lab at the University of Wisconsin-Madison as a post-baccalaureate research intern. Outside of research, Case enjoys birding,

biking, rock climbing, cooking, and spending time with his cat Tippins.

Srinidhi Bharadwaj

Vice-President

Srinidhi is an MD/PhD student in the Robles Lab at Georgia Tech. Prior to starting her PhD, she spend 3 years in med school at Emory University. She graduated from Columbia University with a degree in Biomedical Engineering in 2019. Outside of research, she enjoys many things, including music, crafts, and rockhounding.

Cole Houston

Treasurer

Cole is a fourth year Biomedical Engineering undergraduate with a minor in Computing and Intelligence. Cole has been in the Robles Lab for one year and has focused on upgrading compact, low-cost deep-UV microscope systems and using machine learning algorithms for image analysis. Outside of research he enjoys cooking, hiking, and learning how to play guitar.

Francisco (Paco) Robles

Advisor

Dr. Robles runs the OIS lab at Georgia Tech. The OIS lab seeks to continue advancing optical technologies to help improve our understanding of biological processes and our ability to identify disease. Specifically, we focus on developing and applying label-free linear and nonlinear spectroscopic methods, along with advanced signal processing methods, to gain access to novel forms of functional and molecular contrast for a variety of applications, including cancer detection, tumor margin assessment, hematology, and neuron functional imaging.
