Adam Casselman

Adam is a first-year Ph.D. student pursuing a Robotics degree in the Aerospace department. He was born and raised in Illinois and graduated from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign (UIUC) in spring 2025 with a bachelor’s degree in aerospace engineering. His undergraduate research investigated the optimal routing of modular agents on a graph. In addition to undergraduate research, he was involved in UIUC’s Solid Propulsion and Spaceshot rocketry teams.

He has previously interned at Raytheon and is currently working with the Air Force Research Laboratory on satellite conjunction analysis, particularly quantifying uncertainty using different estimation techniques. Adam’s current research interests include robotics, game theory, safety under uncertainty, stochastic control, and satellite collision avoidance problems.
