Summary:
The AD Biomarker team is tasked to identify sensitive and specific biomarkers for Alzheimer’s disease, from different modalities of data collected from the subjects. The team has worked with proteomic data from CSF and brain tissues and plans to integrate it with neuropsychological, genomic and imaging based markers. The approach for identifying biomarkers often depends on machine learning based feature selection approaches, and followed by an independent statistical analysis in order to validate the proposed targets. The work is focused towards Alzheimer’s Disease but the methods are generalizable to feature selection problems.
