This study abroad program is designed to increase students’ knowledge of civil engineering, enhance their technical ability to analyze materials and structures, understand the role of the environmental regulatory process in project development—all within a global framework. The UK and EU, have a rich architectural and structural design history along with its booming construction industry, providing a backdrop for students to learn about sustainable and resilient development. After an intense two weeks of instruction in Atlanta, students will travel to Europe to complete the program. While in abroad, students can expect to spend time in the classroom and in associated local field activities. Additionally, the immersive program incorporates a number of cultural activities. Finally, living, studying, and traveling in Europe will give students the opportunity to develop their leadership, management, and engineering skills.
