Cardiovascular Fluid Mechanics Laboratory

10 March 2023

Conference presentation at SIAM (Society of Industrial and Applied Mathematics) Conference in Computational Science and Engineering by Imran Shah

Imran Shah, a graduate student in Biomedical Engineering from the CFM Lab presented his work on developing a framework for real-time shape optimization of an idealized TCPC for use in Fontan surgical planning via reduced order modeling approaches. The authors have shown that they can provide an optimal TCPC geometry for a desired Hepatic Flow Distribution value in only 15 minutes, with simulations all performed on a laptop, highlighting the effectiveness of model-driven reduction approaches for surgical planning simulations.

Congratulations, Imran!
