Front-End Developer
As a Front End Developer, I was tasked with:
I met with stakeholders to review the current website and identify pain points and requirements for the next iteration.
Requirements and goals were organized and prioritized. In terms of design, the stakeholder left the decisions to the designer. I began with light comparative analysis and mid-fidelity mock-ups to give the stakeholder a visualization and a chance to change or modify any designs. Next, a high-fidelity mock-up was created for approval to begin development.
For the redesign, I wanted to utilize color more and give the page a strong brand identity. I changed the main navigation bar to the brand’s blue have a strong color on every page and made the hero banner colored to be more warm and inviting. The first tasks were to make the pages more visually appealing using a variety of colors.
Because WordPress can have its own nuances, I have been creating a style guide as I develop the site. This way ensures I have correct documentation for all modules. Due to one of the goals being a consistent design language, I am ensuring I create proper documentation for future design and developers. I am including color, buttons, typography, custom styling on modules, and spacing rules. As I continue to work this will become more flushed out.
