If you are interested in being part of the research team at CONECTech Lab, please indicate in your application forms that you wish to work under the guidance of Dr. Javier Irizarry in the School of Building Construction. We offer assistantship support to outstanding applicants according to experience and qualifications if funding is available at the time of application to the program.

Prospective research team members should have skills, be knowledgeable, or have a strong interest in the following topics or areas*:

• Building Information Modeling (BIM)
• Augmented Reality (AR) and Virtual Reality (VR)
• Unmanned Aerial Systems (UAS) or drones
• Construction robotics
• Additive manufacturing or 3D printing in construction
• Geographic Information Systems (GIS)
• Facilities Management (application of IT)
• Construction Safety, specifically cognition and risk perception
• Mobile device use in construction
• Wearable Technology
• Learning and knowledge transfer in construction education
• Learning and knowledge transfer in construction environments
• Human Factors (applied to the construction industry)
• Programing related to Machine Learning, Computer Vision, and other applications of Artificial Intelligence

*In order to work in the Lab, students may be required to take courses to refresh or acquire the skills listed above or acquire new skills needed for their research.
