Undergraduate Research Assistant – Cope Lab, Georgia Tech (Spring 2025)
The Cope Lab at Georgia Tech is seeking a motivated Undergraduate Research Assistant to join our team for Spring 2025. Our research focuses on understanding chemotherapy induced neuropathy using electrophysiological, histological, and imaging-based approaches.
Position Responsibilities:
- Sectioning fixed tissue samples using a cryostat or vibratome.
- Performing immunohistochemistry (IHC) using established lab protocols.
- Imaging tissue sections using confocal microscopy.
- Analyzing neuronal morphology and labeling patterns using software such as Neurolucida and ImageJ/Fiji.
- Maintaining detailed records of experimental procedures and data.
Qualifications:
- Current undergraduate student majoring in Neuroscience, Biology, Biomedical Engineering, or a related field.
- Prior lab coursework or research experience is helpful but not required—training will be provided.
- Strong attention to detail and willingness to learn new techniques.
- Must be able to commit 10–15 hours per week during the Spring 2025 semester.
