Capture the Flag
The virtual Deloitte Capture the Flag (CTF) event is a competitive hacking challenge where teams solve security-based problems to capture “flags” and earn points. Challenges award varying amounts of points depending on difficulty. The teams with the most amount of points at the end of the event wins. CTF Event Overview
The goal: The goal of each challenge is to find a “flag,” which is a string of text. The flags for each challenge are submitted on this site in order to receive points.
The scoring: Challenges award varying amounts of points depending on difficulty. The teams with the most amount of points at the end of the event wins. The scoreboard is automatically updated to reflect the current state of the event. The scoreboard will reflect the final rankings when the event ends. In the event of a tie for points, the fastest team wins.
Ground rules: Participants must avoid collateral damage, use only the permitted infrastructure, and maintain the highest standards of integrity. All participants must adhere to the event’s ground rules, including restrictions on outside help, brute forcing, and sabotage of other teams. Any violation of these rules will result in immediate disqualification.
Competition structure: The competition will be divided into three rounds, each with two skill levels: expert and novice. Teams will compete within their selected skill level, with the top 50% in each round advancing. The competition will culminate in a final round where the top three teams will receive awards.
