Contactless dielectrophoresis (cDEP) uses electric fields to isolate highly aggressive phenotypes from malignant cells of the same type without biomarkers. cDEP capitalizes on the unique bioelectric signature of cells to sort and enrich heterogeneous samples while maintaining sample sterility and viability for downstream investigation. The Bioelectromechanical Systems Laboratory is developing cDEP for personalized diagnoses and custom treatment planning for oncology patients.
