Dr. Douglas Hope is a Senior Research Scientist at the Georgia Tech Research Institute who specializes in fundamental research on problems associated with Space Domain Awareness (SDA). Dr. Hope has expertise in imaging, signal detection, inverse problems, and information theory. In addition to his work in SDA, Dr. Hope collaborates with astronomers on interdisciplinary projects to detect and characterize planets around other stars.
In addition to research, I have experience teaching and mentoring undergraduate, graduate, and doctoral students. I take the honor of passing forward knowledge to the next generation as a serious responsibility. I have shown commitment to outreach and advancement in education, research, and scholarship. I firmly believe in giving first-generation and underrepresented scholars the opportunity to contribute toward solutions to address current and future space-related challenges.
In addition to my research and teaching here at GTRI, I am actively involved in numerous projects and collaborations within the U.S. and internationally.
