An international learning experience is waiting for you with the East Asia Study Abroad Program in Security and Resilience! This new program brings students to three countries in East Asia over the course of ten weeks. Students will take classes in the capital cities of South Korea and Taiwan, and will experience a fast-paced tour of unforgettable sites across Japan. This opportunity will give students a unique perspective on international relations, sustainable development, and resilience across the region.
The Program begins with four weeks in Seoul, a center of global cultural and economic influence. Students will then spend two weeks traveling the country of Japan, visiting sites such as Fukushima and Hiroshima. The last leg of the program is in the city of Taipei, where students will spend four weeks learning on the campus of Tatung University.
This study abroad is planned to take place from May 18 to July 25, 2025. Students will take four courses, for 12 hours of credit. There are no prerequisites or language requirements. The program is open to all students, but may be of special interest to those pursuing the:
- East Asian Studies minor
- Global Development minor
- International Affairs minor
- International Plan
- Chinese, Japanese, or Korean minors
Although this is a Georgia Tech program, students from other universities are welcome to apply. If accepted, non-Georgia Tech students would pay an additional $250 enrollment fee.
