About Us

The Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) is the largest technical professional society. IEEE has more than 400,000 members all around the world. IEEE is known for its research journals and conferences, IEEE Xplore, a research search engine and collator, and its standards collections.

GT IEEE is the Georgia Tech student branch of IEEE. This organization receives financial support from the greater IEEE organization, and provides opportunities for members to attend IEEE events within the Atlanta area.

Additionally, we work closely with IEEE Atlanta. This includes helping with recruitment activities, setting up tech talks, info sessions, luncheons, etc. The board is always brainstorming ideas to give companies the opportunity to meet students, obtain resumes, and advertise while letting students know about employers and various opportunities.

Membership

Students of all majors at Georgia Tech are welcome to join GT IEEE. This organization is dedicated to providing a wide variety of opportunities to grow engineering skills, corporate workshops, information sessions, networking, and social activities.

GT IEEE has several methods of helping students grow their technical expertise. The Robotics team and Robotics Hackathon, Robotech, are open to all majors and experience levels! Additionally, the first several weeks of the fall semester are dedicated to training new robotics teams members as well as providing technical workshops for all members.

For those seeking leadership experience, our chapter’s leadership board is always looking for inspired and motivated leaders to guide. Our chapter is a student-led organization that serves its student body members. We are always on the lookout for individuals who are seeking opportunities to host large-scale events such as our Hackathon, and assist in growing our network.
