Ashkan Zandi

Dr. Ashkan Zandi received his PhD from the University of Tehran and his MSc from Amirkabir University of Technology (Tehran Polytechnic), both with honors. His doctoral research focused on developing highly sensitive label-free biosensors for early-stage cancer diagnosis, intraoperative detection of cancer-involved lymph nodes, and non-invasive cancer treatment and drug delivery, earning him the IEEE Region 8 and Iran Section Best PhD Thesis Award of 2022.

In 2021, he joined the School of Electrical and Computer Engineering and Prof. Ali Adibi’s group at the Georgia Institute of Technology as Research Faculty, spearheading innovative projects in cavity quantum electrodynamic (CQED), quantum biosensing, and quantum medicine, while also advancing biomolecule detection using integrated photonics and 2D material-based sensors. He was the recipient of the Research Spotlight Award from School of Electrical and Computer Engineering, Georgia Tech, April 2024.
