Nattakorn (Topto) Kittisut is a Ph.D. candidate in Machine Learning – Electrical and Computer Engineering (ML-ECE) at the Georgia Institute of Technology under the supervision of Professor Ali Adibi. Originally from Thailand, he earned two Bachelor of Science degrees in Mathematics and Economics, and a minor in Data Science from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, followed by a Master of Science in Quantitative and Computational Finance (QCF) and a Master of Science in Computational Science and Engineering (CSE) at Georgia Tech. Prior to pursuing his Ph.D., he received a Gold Medal in the International Mathematical Olympiad in 2017 and worked as a quantitative analyst and investment strategist at two of the big five banks in Thailand as well as at Regions Bank in Birmingham, AL, focusing on credit risk modeling, macroeconomic forecasting, merger and acquisition, and portfolio optimization. Additionally, he have experience in the Educational AI as his work as an Educational Technologist at Squirrel AI Learning and an AI/ML Research Engineer at IEEE AI Research Lab, where he developed neuro-symbolic architectures for enhancing Generative AI in adaptive learning.
Nattakorn joined Professor Adibi’s research group in May 2024 as a Graduate Research Assistant, focusing on Medical AI, Photonic AI, and Finance AI. His research spans multiple domains, including integrating eye-tracking data into deep learning models for medical imaging, developing multimodal AI models with ensemble, temporal learning, and fusion techniques, utilizing Physics-Informed Neural Networks (PINNs) in photonic device optimization, and applying Generative AI and reinforcement learning to financial modeling. Beyond research, he serves as a mentor and leader in the AI-based Discovery and Innovation Lab within Georgia Tech’s Vertically Integrated Projects (VIP) Program.
