Roy Makkar Gabriel

Roy Makkar Gabriel is a Ph.D. candidate at Georgia Tech, specializing in Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning in Medical Imaging under the School of Electrical and Computer Engineering. He holds a Master’s degree in Quantitative and Computational Finance and is also pursuing a Master’s in Computational Science and Engineering at Georgia Tech. Additionally, he earned a dual bachelor’s degree in Industrial and Systems Engineering from Georgia Tech and Natural Sciences from Covenant College.

Roy’s professional experience spans various industries, including quantitative research and portfolio analytics at Dimensional Fund Advisors (DFA), foreign exchange trading and market making at BNY Mellon (BNYM), technology consulting at PwC, data science and engineering at ViewFlow (a startup), and sales at Bellhops Inc. He is also the founder of Makademy, an education and consulting company that has partnered with hedge funds to teach quantitative trading and develop AI-powered software solutions. His long-term goal is to commercialize his Ph.D. research and establish a medical imaging AI company that enhances diagnostic capabilities for doctors and improves patient outcomes on a global scale.
