FAQs

Who should I contact (and how should I contact them) if I’d like to learn more about your organization or if I am interested in joining?

Email econclub.gt@gmail.com or connect with any member of our executive team!

What is the audience of your organization?

Undergraduate Students, Graduate Students, International Students, and Transfer Students of all Majors are welcome to join Econ Club.

What is the average time commitment for a member of your organization?

Club members are expected to attend all networking and social events. There are about 2-3 events per month, and they are usually one-hour long. For those who are interested in contributing to the workings of the Club, members can opt to become committee members in the various commitees offered. If committed, it typically takes anywhere between 1-2 hours of work per event. Finally, highly motivated students who are interested in getting executive management and administrative experience, are encouraged to work closely with the executive team. If successful, the candidates are offered an opportunity to build on their contribution by serving on the executive team. Work at the executive level requires at least 5 hours per event.

Is your organization known for any particular events, programs, activities, or otherelements?

Yes! We just assisted in forging a regional umbrella-like student organization for Econ Clubs in nearly all higher ed institutions in Atlanta! The name of the organization is EconomicsCollaborative of Atlanta-Area Academic Institutions (ECoAAAI), it is supported by the Atlanta Economics Club (spearheaded by the Atlanta Fed), connecting together students from the GSU, Gwinnett, Spelman, Oglethorpe and possible Emory Econ Clubs. The goal of the Econ Collaborative of Atlanta-Area Academic Institutions is to increase student awareness of the economics profession.
