Ambulance Operations

By partnering with Grady EMS and GTPD, EMS at Tech’s members respond to medical emergencies on campus.

General Information

Grady EMS, GTPD, and EMS at Tech have partnered to staff an advanced life support, transporting ambulance for the campus.

  1. What are the requirements to staff the rig?
You must be an EMT, over the age of 21, and capable of being hired by Grady EMS.
  2. Does joining EMS at Tech guarantee getting to staff the ambulance?
Due to a combination of limited slots and hiring restrictions, EMS at Tech cannot make guarantees to all members of being able to staff the ambulance.
  3. I’m not 21 yet, what can I do to get experience?
Unfortunately, due to insurance requirements, EMS at Tech and Grady EMS cannot allow anyone under the age of 21 to staff the unit. However, EMSaT’s training opportunities remain open to all members and represent a useful means of getting experiencing and preparing to work on the rig.
