Interested in becoming an EMT at the Grady EMS Academy? Apply for the scholarship until March 14th!

General Information

The Todd Family Fund has established a scholarship for Georgia Tech students taking an EMT-B or AEMT certification class with the Grady EMS Academy, covering the full cost of tuition. See below for instructions on how to apply!


  1. What are the requirements to apply for the scholarship?
    You must be a Georgia Tech Student in good standing, and you must apply to and be admitted to the Grady EMS academy into an EMT-B or AEMT class.
  2. Do I need to be a member of EMS at Tech to apply?
    While we encourage membership in EMSaT, this is not a requirement to apply for the scholarship. Your application will be directed via EMSaT to the Grady EMS Academy.
  3. What are the deadlines?
    The deadline for applying to both the Grady EMS Academy and the Todd Family Fund EMS Scholarship for the Spring cohort is March 14th. For the most up to date information on the Grady EMS Academy, please visit this link.
  4. Should I submit an application to the Grady EMS Academy?Yes! Being eligible for the scholarship requires a completed and submitted Grady EMS Academy EMT-B or AEMT Application. It is your responsibility as the applicant to fill out and submit that application prior to the deadline. 

Application Instructions

1. Download the following application form PDF

2. Fill out all fields of the form, including the essay, either by hand or using your PDF editor of choice. Do not fill out the faculty name or signature field.

3. Use this form to submit the PDF and other pertinent information that is requested.

**On the application PDF it states to send it directly to the Grady EMS Academy Registrar, please do NOT do this. It must be signed by the EMSaT faculty advisor to ensure you are a student in good standing. We will submit the application directly after the faculty advisor signature.**

4. Submit scholarship documentation to the link above by March 14th. Simultaneously, submit a completed Grady EMS Academy application directly to the Academy by March 14th.

5. If you are admitted to the academy, you will be informed of the Scholarship decision by the Grady EMS Academy Registrar’s Office. You may choose whether or not to attend based on receipt of the scholarship if you wish.

What if I do not get the scholarship?

If you are admitted to the Academy but to not receive the scholarship, you can choose to still attend and self-pay, or not attend. Your scholarship paperwork will be kept on file should you choose to reapply. If you complete EMT-B school without the scholarship, and you apply for AEMT school at Grady, your scholarship application will be carried forward.

Does this apply to the Grady EMS Academy Paramedic program?

No, this scholarship only applies to the EMT-B and AEMT programs.

When will I find out if I got the scholarship?

You will be informed by the Grady EMS Academy Registrar with the scholarship decision in the end of March or beginning of April.
