For the second major artifact, students had the opportunity to work collaboratively in groups to create a compelling podcast episode. The students were tasked to select college myths related to Georgia Tech and explore its connections to the themes of Dark Academia. At a tech school, the concept of Dark Academia is less conspicuous than at the average liberal arts school that The Secret History is based on. Students conducted research on their myths and made crucial connections between the myth and the theme of Dark Academia and developed a persuasive argument. This was shown through the use of WOVEN text models as well as different podcast episode orientations. The purpose of this assignment was simply to create a piece of podcast media that was enjoyable to listen to and one that accurately described the relationship between Georgia Tech myths and Dark Academia. So get ready to dive deeper into the world of myths and Dark academia through our class podcasts!
