This guide is for general participants of the 2024 Eastern-Section Seismological Society of America (ES-SSA) meeting, which will be held at Georgia Tech in Atlanta, GA, on Oct. 21-22, 2024. Important Details
- For the who plan to attend the field trip starting on Sunday morning (10/20/2024), please make sure to book on extra hotel and arrive by Saturday night.
- There will be a reception at the GT hotel that starts around 6 pm on Sunday night. You can also pick up your badge at that time. The reception includes some snacks and free drinks for those who register for the meeting.
- There will be a banquet dinner on Monday night (10/21/2024 starting at 6 pm), and a buffet lunch on Tuesday noon time at the same time as the ES-SSA business meeting. Both meals are included in the registration and will be at TSRB – the meeting place.
- There will be mid-morning and mid-afternoon snacks, coffee and drinks. You are responsible for the rest of your meals, including breakfast. There are plenty of options in Midtown where the hotel and meeting place are.
- The meeting will start in the morning around 8:15 am on Monday morning (10/21/2024), and finish by 4:45 pm on Tuesday afternoon (10/22/2024).
- For poster presentation, the poster board size is 40” (Height) x 60” (Width). Hence, your poster size would be best in the following dimension or less: 36” (or 3′ Height) x 60” (or 5′ Width).
- If you are presenting a poster, please make sure to take down your poster by 6 pm on Monday 10/21/2024, and by 4:15 pm on Tuesday 10/22/2024.

Arrival and Parking
Parking: If you are driving to the meeting venue (TSRB), you can park at Centergy Parking deck: 815 Williams St NW, Atlanta, GA 30309. You will need to pay your own parking fee.
Travel and Related Details: Most of the meeting participants will arrive by air, and the nearest/largest airport is the Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport (code: ATL). From the ATL airport, you can
- Take the Marta Rail Line (https://www.itsmarta.com/railline-schedules.aspx either Red or Gold line and get off at North Ave or Midtown), and then walk to the hotel or meeting place
- Take a Taxi or Uber/Lyft. Note the Uber/Lyft pick up is on the Rideshare Pick-up Zone in the North Economy parking lot (between doors N2 and N3). It’s a few min walk and please follow the sign (https://www.atl.com/rideshare/).
- Get a rental car. Please check with hotel directly about the parking cost and availability.
