A noodle restaurant in Xi’an is called 撩咋咧 (“very yummy” in Xi’an Mandarin). It sells the classic biangbiang noodle , with the character consisting of 58 strokes. Picture taken in 2018.
In a TV advertisement for Pepsi-Cola in 1996, the star of the Shanghai soccer team, Shen Si 申思, approaches a small boy for a sip of his Pepsi, to which the boy responds in Shanghai Wu: “Nong xiang a vakyao xiang 侬想也勿要想 [Don’t even think about it].”
