TV Series in Sichuan Mandarin:
Sichuan and Chongqing in southwest China have been leading the country in dialect media productions since the 1990s. Between 2000 and 2005 alone, over forty television series and dramas were produced in Sichuan Mandarin, in which Chengdu Mandarin and Chongqing Mandarin are the two hegemonic regional varieties.

- Different local languages or dialects are used to depict positive and negative characters. For instance, the mouse speaks Chengdu Mandarin while the cat and the dog speak Zhongjiang 中江 and Zigong 自贡 Mandarin respectively.
- In the episode “The New Sworn Brotherhood in the Peach Garden” (“Xin taoyuan sanjieyi” 新桃园三结义), the dog Butch presides over an oath-signing in Zigong 自贡 Mandarin, a subdialect of Sichuan Mandarin.

Rap Songs in Sichuan Mandarin:
Mow, one of the rap pioneers in Chengdu, formed the local hiphop group Big Zoo around 2005, and allegedly founded the Chengdu City Rap House, or CDC, in 2010.
Cai Zhenhong, better known as Xiedi 谢帝 or Fat Shady, who became nationally famous after performing a defiant track called ‘I Ain’t Going to Work Tomorrow’ (‘Laozi mingtian bu sangban’ 老子明天不上班) in Chengdu dialect on the popular singing competition show The Voice of China in 2014.
Higher Brothers 更高兄弟 is a rap group of four members, MaSiWei (Ma Siwei 马思唯), DZKnow (Ding Zhen 丁震), Psy.P (Yang Junyi 杨俊逸) and Melo (Xie Yujie 谢宇杰), which was formed in December 2015, and was most active from 2016 to 2019.
