SHN(上海宁Shanghaining) website(2003-2011) is where members who self-identified them as Shanghainese in Shanghai or in other countries come together to promote the Shanghai Wu dialect and construct a distinct Shanghai youth identity. “We are now the new generations of Shanghai. We represent the new culture of Shanghai. Come chat in our own language[Shanghai Wu], sing with our own music[Rap], and dance with our own rhythm[hip-hop]”
