First-Year Meal Plan Requirement
All First-Year Students living on campus are required to have one of the First-Year Meal Plans. A required first-year college meal plan provides students with consistent, nutritious meals, ensuring they maintain a healthy diet while adjusting to campus life. It eliminates the stress of grocery shopping, meal preparation, and budgeting for food, allowing students to focus on academics, social connections, and extracurricular activities. Meal plans also foster a sense of community by encouraging students to dine together, helping them build friendships and integrate into campus culture. Additionally, dining halls accommodate diverse dietary needs and provide a variety of meal options, promoting balanced eating habits. By offering convenience, reliability, and social engagement, a required meal plan supports students’ overall well-being and success during their transition to college.
To ensure that you have a seamless dining experience during the first year, we highly suggest that you review all of the information on these pages.

Meal Plan Sign Up FAQs
Do I have to sign up in MyHousing? (On Campus Students)
You do not have to use MyHousing to sign up for your meal plan, however, we highly suggest that you do. This is the most seamless way to ensure that the correct meal plan is placed on your account.
Can I change my meal plan choice after the deadline?
Unfortunately, you cannot. Once the first day of service begins, meal plans cannot be changed. Please ensure that you make your final choice prior to the deadline. Keep in mind that this deadline is the first day of service, which is not the first day of classes. Meal plan service always starts prior to the beginning of classes. All deadlines can be found on our Key Dates page.
Which First Year Meal Plan is the best?
It is a matter of preference for each student. Each plan has its own advantages and drawbacks.
First Year Unlimited Meal Plans
This meal plan is great if you do not want to have to worry about worrying if you will have enough meal swipes to make it through the semester. You can eat in the dining halls whenever and however much you would like.
First Year Flex Plan
This meal plan is a good option for students that want to be able to move around campus freely and not have to make it back to the dining halls for every meal. With this plan, you will have to ensure that you manage your swipes and dining dollars so you do not run out during the semester.
