Rapid Decision Making

What are the neural mechanisms that allow animals to select the appropriate behavior for their environmental context? Animals quite effectively and agilely select, parse, and integrate the right information for their tasks even when their perception is incomplete, occluded, or distracted. The FLAP MURI team seeks to elucidate these internal mechanisms that govern rapid decision making.
