Sensing Complex Environments

Effective behavioral selection and control begins with effective sensors. Many strategies including optimized sensors, active sensing, and efficient integration of sensory information set the stage for animals to navigate their environment and select tasks that are critical for survival. The FLAP MURI team seeks to interrogate these “smart-sensing” strategies that allow for effective decision making.
