Developing a Research Framework for Online Higher Education in Computer Science: Implementing a Marketplace Model
To be presented at the IEEE Digital Education and MOOCs Conference
“The rapid expansion of online higher education, particularly in computer science, has highlighted a significant gap in research opportunities. By creating a pilot study as part of the Georgia Institute of Technology’s Online Master of Science in Computer Science (OMSCS) program, a novel marketplace model for research in online higher education is proposed. … The proposed framework has the potential to significantly impact online higher education in computer science since most if not all of these programs have too many students interested in research and not enough research opportunities to go around.”
