Professor Ingeborg Rocker, PhD. Is the founder and chair of the Georgia Tech Industry Innovation | Circular Economy Lab (I2|CE Lab). The lab, founded in in Fall 2023, is dedicated to develop sustainable cross disciplinary industry innovation that are in particular fostering a circular economy for the ACE Industry.

Rocker joined the Georgia Tech School of Architecture in September 2022 as the Chair of the School of Architecture. She brought renown Architects and Critics like the architects Bjarke Ingels, BIG, Kai Uwe Bergman, BiG, XXX, and XXX See lecture series |Atlanta Talks – to GATECH. She initiated the GA TECH Atlanta Talks, a forum for local and national experts discussing and transdisciplinary and cross scale strategies for the industry’s innovation fostering a social, environmental and economic sustainability. Many of the talks critically revisited current practices and praxis of urban design, landscape – architecture. experience hands-on simulation, and speculate on the future of the built environment, amplified the School’s research in high performance buildings.

In Fall 2023, Rocker was elected as the Chair of GA TECH’s USEC, Undergraduate Sustainability Education Committee charged with developing a comprehensive sustainability curriculum and implementation strategy, including cross- and discipline-appropriate approaches in close collaboration with the respective colleges and schools.

The USEC directs the allocation of Institute Strategic Plan (ISP) funds: to support curriculum development, to document and share sustainability and SDG education successes. This work is carried out in alignment with other ISP initiatives such as Transformative Teaching and Learning.

Rocker’s I2CE Lab is closely linked to her work within the SOA and the USEC, and leverages GATechs VIP Model (add here link to GATECH VIP Model). For Rocker cross- and discipline research is as critical for Industry Innovation as is the development of the next generation of leaders who advance technology and improve the human condition.
