BIO:
Arith Rajapakse is a 4th year medical physics graduate student in LANNS. Before coming to Georgia Tech, he graduated with his BS in Physics (biomedical concentration) from the University of California Irvine and his MS in Physics from CSU Long Beach. During both these degrees, he performed research as a member of the Collins Research Group at UCI where he focused on the synthesis of carbon nanotubes (CNTs) and the integration in devices such as transistors. In his downtime, Arith enjoys surfing, traveling abroad, and hanging out with his wife and dog. Arith graduated in the early of 2022, and promoted to Postdoctoral Researcher at LANNS group.
RESEARCH:
As a member of LANNS, Arith’s primary research focus is the application of nanostructured materials to the detection of ionizing radiation. Drawing on his previous experience, he is currently investigating the use of CNTs as external sensors to radiation in traditional semiconductor detection volumes.
