BIO:
Luke Maloney was born and raised in northeast Georgia. He received a BS in Physics from Furman University in 2012, where he was a Charles H. Townes research fellow, helping develop new methods for synthesis of optically active nanocomposites. He is a former high school teacher of chemistry and physics courses who is an avid rock climber in his spare time.
RESEARCH:
Luke completed an MS in Medical Physics at Georgia Tech in 2017, with a thesis titled “Design of an x-ray CT system with implementation of sparse-data reconstruction”. He is currently focusing on development of a detector array for a nondestructive assay system and image reconstruction techniques for nontraditionally sampled radiography.
