Matthew Dunbrack


BIO:
Matthew Dunbrack is a 5th year Ph.D. candidate in LANNS. He graduated from the University of Florida in 2020 with a B.S. degree in Nuclear Engineering and a minor in Mathematics. He continued his education at Georgia Tech, receiving his M.S. degree in Nuclear Engineering as well as a certificate in Emerging Technologies & Proliferation. In his free time, he enjoys playing piano as well as mastering the art of coffee brewing.

RESEARCH:
Matthew focuses on developing antineutrino-based safeguards sensitivity tools for advanced nuclear reactor monitoring systems. He currently is developing the Reactor Evaluation Through Inspection of Near-field Antineutrinos (RETINA) System, a modular, object-oriented tool for researchers and decision makers to design novel reactor-detector systems and test those systems against potential reactor misuse scenarios.
