Shae Cole


BIO:

Shae is currently a PhD student in Nuclear Engineering and an MS student in Medical Physics at LANNS. He will complete his master’s degree in Medical Physics in December 2025. He previously earned his BS in Physics from Lock Haven University, during which he conducted Soft Matter Physics research at Penn State University and Organic Solar Cell research at Lock Haven University. Outside of his academic work, Shae enjoys hiking with his dog, fishing, and spending time with his wife and child.

RESEARCH:

Shae’s PhD research focuses on radiation detection, specifically the development and characterization of a detection system that integrates multiple nondestructive detectors for source localization and uncertainty quantification.
