The LLAMAS Lab is always on the lookout for motivated students – regardless of research experience. You are a good candidate if you are:

  • Persistent, self-motivated (and willing to “learn on the job”), and team-oriented
  • Interested in working on data-driven problems – especially in visual analytics or closely related areas
  • Have a background or are interested in topics related to: AI and systems, databases, wearable/edge-cloud computing, and hardware-software co-optimizations.
  • Have an interest or familiarity with diving into AI edge/mobile environments (Jetsons, Qualcomm dev boards, AOSP environments, etc.)

We are committed to fostering an inclusive and supportive research environment for students from all backgrounds. We welcome and strongly encourage students to apply from underrepresented backgrounds in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, and other related fields. For more information on Francisco’s background on mentorship and outreach, see here.

Current GaTech Undergraduate/Masters Students

Fill out the lab questionnaire, including the small video analytics exercise. This is required for consideration.

To make the experience most beneficial for all, students are expected to devote at least one semester to any given research project.

At this time, we do not offer GRAs for Undergraduate or Masters students.

Prospective GaTech PhD Students

Please apply here and mention Francisco in your application. Francisco tends to hire 0-1 PhD students during each application cycle.

If you are an undergraduate in the US looking to do summer research at GaTech, apply to the SURE program.
