For Team Gaitway, our mission is to develop a low-cost prosthetic for below-knee amputations. Because the vast majority of the world’s amputees live in developing nations and an estimated 1/10 don’t have access to prosthetics or other forms of aid, our team’s main focus is to create a below-knee prosthetic to be more affordable for those in developing nations.
- Design low-cost, 3D-printable prosthetics for below-knee amputees.
- Improve or replace previous Gaitway designs
- Determine materials to be used
