Jessica Bonsu joined the Meredith Lab in fall 2022. She is currently a BioEngineering PhD student co-advised by Dr. Carson Meredith and Dr. Martha Grover. She received a BS degree in Engineering Science from Smith College (2021) which she followed with a year working in the biotechnology industry before pursuing her graduate studies at Georgia Tech.
Her various research and professional experiences fueled her interest in biomaterials as well as cultivating an interest to supplement experimental research with computational tools. This led to her research work to accelerate and optimize renewable and sustainable materials discovery with a materials informatics approach.
Jessica, a Presidents’ Fellow, is a member of NoBCCHE, a founding member of Georgia Tech’s Ghanaian Student Association (GSA), and an avid mentor to underrepresented students interested in research and pursuing doctoral degrees.
During her free time, she loves spending time with her friends and family, traveling the world, hiking, weightlifting, and exploring the city.
