Daniel Brickner, MS Computer Science, Interactive Intelligence 🌐
Faculty Advisor: Reina Grundhoefer
This program taught me how rich and interesting the field of AI is. I’ve learned so many things, I couldn’t possibly attempt to iterate them here.
It also uncovered a sense of self-confidence and grit that I didn’t know I had in me.

Hang in there through the tough assignments. Step back and question your understanding. Check, double-check, triple-check the assignment instructions, lectures, and Piazza posts. You will work through it with enough perseverance. Finally, when you are stuck and morale is low, take a break, eat some food, or take a nap – you will be surprised what your brain comes up with when you come back.
What comes next for you?
I am getting the Robotics Software Engineering Nanodegree, working on some home projects, and plan to make a career switch to Robotics Software.
Any shoutouts?
This is a shoutout to Dr. Zsolt Kira for putting one of the best classes together, constantly providing valuable feedback, and being active in the classroom.

In the class Artificial Intelligence, there were many experiences where my peers helped each other to work through difficult problems by only speaking of our strategy in tackling the problem. It was a positive cycle, where one person made progress and the others learned from some of their strategies. Then the next person would make progress and the cycle continued.
What spot(s) on campus would you most likely visit in 10 years?
I’ve never been to Georgia Tech, but going to the Klaus Advanced Computing building would be pretty cool.

“As my Georgia Tech journey comes to an end, I would like to thank all the great professors and TAs that helped along the way. I learned many things: things about my future career and things about myself.
This program taught me how rich and interesting the field of AI is. I’ve learned so many things, I couldn’t possibly attempt to iterate them here.
It also uncovered a sense of self-confidence and grit that I didn’t know I had in me. There were many times when I was stuck on a problem and worked on it for many hours. This program taught me to stick at it and to have the tenacity to work through these types of problems. It also taught me how to step back and question my understanding of things. These are two things I will forever carry with me.
I will forever cherish my memories here at Georgia Tech, and all the learning experiences that came with it. Thank you all, and Go Jackets! “

Shruti Gupta, MS Computer Science, Machine Learning 🌐
Faculty Advisor: Judy Reese
My experience at Georgia Tech has been nothing short of unique. It started off with a small batch of just 10 CS folks and we regularly kept in touch during COVID struggles.
Two-thirds of my graduate life has been online so I’ve made many great friends away from campus, spanning different concentrations.

Go with the flow 🙂 Keep going at it even if it seems difficult, no one is born with specific knowledge, it’s about the hard work you put in.

I don’t regret missing out on an in-person sem as I feel I got great flexibility as well as top-notch learning experiences online as well. Coming from a corporate life, grad life has been a breath of fresh air and I only the journey coming to an end so soon!
