About Me

in a place I love, with my beloved family…

In my profession,

I am an Assistant Professor in the Mechanical Engineering department at Cleveland State University and a research affiliate in the Mechanical Engineering department at Georgia Tech. I received a B.Sc. from Yildiz Technical University (Istanbul, Turkey) in 2012, M.Sc. from Lehigh University in 2016, and Ph.D. from Lehigh University in 2018 all in Mechanical Engineering. My research interests lie in developing computational and scientific machine learning methods for problems at the intersection of fluid dynamics, biology, chemistry, and thermal sciences that are relevant to the environment, energy, health, and robotics. I am so passionate to create an environment that cultivates diversity, equity, and inclusion to bring students and scholars together in providing innovative solutions to problems with high societal impact.

Beyond the work,

I enjoy biking, walking, running, and playing a Turkish musical instrument, “Tanbur”. In addition to these, I value my time and abilities in the community we live in, with my family and friends, and social events that I see as important. In this direction, I participate in many activities voluntarily and try to add value as much as I can.
