Progress
The team discussed their progress over the last week. Thomas is focusing on fixing known bugs, and preparing for tomorrow’s meeting with
the collaborator team. Vy is learning Vue Framework by going through tutorials online.Roman made some progress improving the Postgres startup on the Docker container. He is planning on refactoring the Vue code into class-based components
Discussion on Upcoming Meeting
The team discussed the meeting with the collaborators from University of Florida and
Dr. Porto which will happen on Thursday, August 29th. Whilst the team is unsure of the scope of the conversation, they assume the focus
will be mainly on the hosting of the project using the university resources, and clarifying team roles
Models
The team discussed any future developments in the use of deep learning models.Thomas explained that the application is currently using an open-source CLIP model, without any extra fine-tuning or additional post-training. As future tasks, the team may look into comparing different models, and involving targeted training (if the new resources can handle it).
Project Management
The team discussed using a task management tool for future development, especially asynchronous work involving the collaborating team.
Roman suggested the use of GitHub projects for this, instead of using more bloated tools like Jira.
Meeting Logistics
The team reiterated the weekly meetings on Wednesday at 6pm. Roman states that he will set up a slide deck which each member will use to present
what they’ve accomplished over the last week.
