Can GA Tech Students Get Adobe Products Free?

READ NOTES at end of post, this doesn’t seem to work for students, sadly. You will get Adobe Premiere Rush and Photoshop Express, but not the full versions or Acrobat Pro.

Here’s the full list of students (added 9/3/24) that any free account gets, this is what GA Tech students get:

  • Character Animator (hmmmm that’s interesting)
  • Mixamo (Animate 3d chars more hmmm really interesting!)
  • Fresco (some paintbrush program like Corel Painter maybe)
  • Photoshop Express
  • Bridge (asset organizer)
  • Premiere Rush
  • Behance – portfolio sharing
  • Portfolio – websites
  • Adobe Color
  • Adobe Live
  • Substance 3D Community Assets

Confusingly, this list shows up, I’m still sorting it out…

Premiere Rush Starter Plan
Creative Cloud Trials (PS, Prem. Pro, more)
Adobe Photoshop Lightroom for mobile
Adobe Photoshop Express
Adobe Fresco Starter Plan
Behance
PDF Services
Project Spice (Prerelease)
Adobe Express Free Plan
Behance Talent
Core CC Services

Creative Cloud Publish Storage
Adobe Portfolio
Behance Network
Adobe Fonts
CC Storage CCX
Adobe Firefly (limited)
Acrobat Pro free trial
Adobe Acrobat Reader
Document Cloud Files
Adobe Fill & Sign mobile app
Adobe Scan mobile app

I mean, the character animation stuff sounds very interesting! And Photoshop Express probably does 90% of what you need, if you’re not a power-user.

I don’t know if I’m somehow grandfathered in or why I have full access, if it’s because I’m a Faculty/Instructional Associate (graduated TA). So “staff” members should expect this to work. A co-worker who recently accidentally lost his access was able to get full access back, but that might still be a special case.

https://www.adobe.com/home — Hopefully still works for staff, doesn’t seem to work for students.

If you’re going to give it a shot:

Go to the link above and login with your gatech.edu email. I’ve seen Adobe shows me one page that looks like I don’t have any free products, but I would dig deeper and find my account and apps. For me it was at this link https://www.adobe.com/apps/all/all-platforms.

I think this is the false link that makes it look like you need to buy, don’t use this https://www.adobe.com/creativecloud.html.

To me the best approach is to get to where you can download the Creative Cloud app free. Then from the Creative Cloud app interface, you will hopefully have a selection of desired apps to install.

Please make a comment with your experience and any details, thanks.

Adobe update:

  • Another student reported that this only gives them the limited versions, Premiere Rush and Photoshop Express.
  • After having a student in Europe try this Adobe access, he was only getting Photoshop Express and Premiere Rush, not the full versions. Will update when we hear back from OIT.
  • More importantly there are many posts on Reddit saying this was taken away for new students at some point. It may only be that my account is grandfathered in. Also, I have graduated but I’m a IA/TA so that might be a factor.
  • If anyone tries this please post a comment about your experience, thanks!
  • Latest update from 9/3/24 near top of page, sorry student’s but you still get some cool apps free!
