The H. Milton Stewart School of Industrial and Systems Engineering (ISyE) at Georgia Tech, the Management Science & Engineering Department at Stanford (MS&E), and the Industrial and Operations Engineering Department at Michigan (IOE) are co-organizing the first ISyE-MS&E-IOE Rising Stars Workshop! The workshop will be held on Friday, April 25th.
Our goal is to broaden participation in research and increase ties between promising junior researchers in the areas of industrial engineering, operations research, and management science. The workshop will provide opportunities for researchers to learn about and interact with Georgia Tech ISyE, with each other, and to present their research and learn new skills. The workshop, in particular, will be comprised of:
- Presentations, lightning talks, and/or posters by participants that are accepted to the workshop;
- Mentorship, where small groups of participants will be matched with a faculty mentor and can ask questions about academia, research, the job market, etc.;
- “How to” sessions to help develop skills useful in research and on the job market;
- Roundtable discussions about topics of interest to the participants;
- Opportunities to learn about the research done in ISyE, MS&E, and IOE;
- Networking opportunities with faculty members from all three departments.
We are soliciting applications from Ph.D. students and postdoctoral researchers who would be interested in participating in the workshop! The application form can be found here: https://forms.gle/5pzpihgCN4rEVp2M6
The deadline for applications is March 2nd, 2025. Decisions will be made by end of March 2025.
